Description Of The Tour:

During this tour, you will have the opportunity to visit and learn pre colonial history. This tour will cover four out of ten regions (Accra, Kumasi, Central & Eastern). In Accra, you will get a city tour and visit sites such as the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial, the Arts Center, Mallata Market, the Parliament House and more! While in the Eastern Region, you will gain a deeper understanding of traditional Afrikan spirituality within its proper cultural context; in this case, the traditional Akom (Akan) spiritual system. You can expect to experience firsthand, the traditional libation ritual, by a local priestesses at her shrine in the village where you can ask questions and even do a cleansing ritual.  In Kumasi, you will learn about the ancient Ashanti Kingdom by visiting Manhyia Palace and Cultural Centre, in addition to lodging for a night on the beautiful Lake Bosomtwi. In a village right outside of Kumasi, you will visit Assin Manso Slave Market and the slave bath stream. In the Central Region, you will tour Cape Coast/Elmina Slave Castles and pour libations at the site of the last baths for our ancestors before they were taken to the West. In addition, you will also tour Kakum National Park, which protects an area of rainforest, home to endangered mammals such as forest elephants, bongo antelopes and primates like the Diana monkey. The park is rich in butterflies yand birds, including African grey parrots and hornbills. The Canopy Walkway, suspended 30 meters above the ground, provides treetop views of the forest. During the tour, you will also enjoy delicious and nutritious vegan local meals, drumming & dancing, poetry, music, conscious discussions, all while reconnecting back to your ancestral roots and traditional spiritual energy.
